Christmas is the favorite holiday of the French! Every year, thousands of villages decorate their streets to bring the Christmas fair to life. This is the case of Rochefort-en-Terre, which even won the Wonderful Christmas Village award in 2017.

The Marvelous Christmas Village

On December 23, 2017, Laurent Mariotte, Karine Ferri and Valérie Damidot, the three TF1 star hosts who made up the jury, unanimously agreed after visiting Riquewihr in Alsace, Rochefort-en-Terre and Aniane in Occitanie.

After testing the Christmas spirit in these three villages, it was finally Rochefort-en-Terre that was elected The Marvelous Christmas Village 2017.

The title awarded is based on 3 criteria: illuminations and decoration, gastronomy and Christmas tradition.

Rochefort-en-Terre thus confirms the fascination it exerts after being elected Favorite Village of the French on France 2 in 2016.
