Throughout December, the Petite Cité de Caractère will be lit up in a soft, poetic way, inviting you to daydream. In 2017, the village was even elected“Wonderful Christmas Village”!
And what could be better than to be accompanied by a local guide who will take you to equally enchanting places off the main street? A leisurely stroll through the village’s narrow streets. Local children Mélanie and Elodie share their stories and history with you. They recount the memories of the amazing people who shaped Rochefort-en-Terre, the secrets of our heritage and the whispers scattered through the alleyways. Along a 2km route, enjoy 1? hours of surprising exchanges and discoveries about our built, natural and intangible heritage, illustrated with old photos. At the end of the tour, night falls… and the village lights up with 1000 lights. Ready to share a moment of Christmas magic?
After the tour, stroll through the cobbled streets of the village and find original gifts for the festive season: unique creations, gourmet baskets filled with local produce… You’ll discover the traditional Christmas cribs and the charming windows of artists and craftsmen. The smells of mulled wine, cinnamon and chocolate wafting from the chalets add to the pleasure: there’s no doubt we’re surrounded by the magic of Christmas!
Advice : given the exceptionally high numbers of visitors at weekends, access to parking lots and the village is difficult. We strongly recommend arriving in the morning or early afternoon. During school vacations, don’t hesitate to come during the week. The illuminations come on every evening at 5.30pm. For toddlers: prefer baby carriers. Pets are welcome on a leash.
