Places of legends and beliefs in Morbihan: a theatrical lecture on the popular beliefs of Brittany.
Running time: 1 hour 30 minutes. Suitable for all ages. A production by Editions Stéphane Batigne and Compagnie du Bastion de L'Âme. Blending history and theater, Stéphane Batigne, publisher and specialist in regional heritage, and Yannick Cotten, actor with Compagnie du Bastion de l'Âme, take you on a mythical journey, where each place—dolmen, chapel, menhir, fountain—evokes legends, superstitions, and beliefs. From the appropriation of pagan sites by Christianity to evocations of the Devil and the Poulpiquets, by way of Gargantua and bonesetters, this exploration intertwines history, storytelling, and popular culture. Drawing on several titles published by Stéphane Batigne Éditeur, the presentation will also feature texts by Alfred Fouquet, Anatole Le Braz, Rabelais, Zacharie Le Rouzic, and others. Interspersed with readings, the lecture is designed as an invitation to rediscover a mythical and spiritual Brittany, where legends and beliefs, not entirely forgotten, continue to whisper to those who know how to listen.
