Journée Technique vocale et polyphonie avec Valentine Bâty

This workshop is for anyone wanting to discover vocal technique and practice polyphony through songs from around the world. It's for anyone who wants to connect with their voice and experience that special moment of connection: singing together. Singing is something that can be learned and practiced. It's based on techniques that are accessible to everyone – yes, even you, who might think you "can't sing"! During the workshop, we'll explore the elements involved in sound production through exercises in body awareness, breath work, and vocal warm-ups. We'll use rhythmic and melodic games to create musical cohesion within the group. Then we'll learn some songs from around the world for multiple voices (polyphony). Learning takes place through vocal practice and repetition, drawing on auditory memory and physical expression. Learning songs in a group is particularly effective because it allows everyone to combine their strengths, rely on the collective, and experience the joy of sharing. Singing together allows us to experience a connection through emotions and musical sensations. We will end the day with a sing-along aperitif open to the public (friends and family of participants), in a friendly atmosphere, at 6:00 PM. Audience/Prerequisites: No prior singing or music reading experience required / Ages 15 and up. Minimum/Maximum number of participants: 8 to 15 people. Price: €30 for members / €33 for non-members. A 50% deposit is required upon booking. This deposit will be retained if the participant cancels less than 3 business days before the workshop (unless the canceling participant finds a replacement) and refunded if the workshop is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. The deposit can be paid by check, cash, or online via HelloAsso. Practical information: Wear comfortable clothing suitable for physical activity. Bring a picnic lunch (lunch break from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM). A water bottle is also required.
