In the 12th and 13th centuries, this building housed the Hospital run by the Brothers of Saint John of Jerusalem, whose mission was to welcome and care for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela or Jerusalem. The Maison Louis belonged to the family of the same name for a long time. A dairy and then a grocery store, it was later bought by the town to create a library and then an exhibition hall.
