Larré, a small rural town presents a wooded and hilly territory that stretches along the Arz, tributary of the Oust. The commune has 1,050 inhabitants, the population is constantly increasing due to the geographical location. The 2×2 lane Vannes-Rennes, the future 2×2 lane Vannes-Redon and the RN 165 put Larré at a 1h from Rennes and Nantes, 20 min from Vannes

His origins

Larré comes, it seems, from the name of the village of “Lesnaré” (meaning seigneurial course of the Arré). Larré is a dismemberment of the parish of Sulniac. It has for holders St Aignan and St Méen. In the Middle Ages, there were several seigneuries on the territory of Larré, including those of Kerplat, Lesnaré and La Haye (or Haie).

Larré has a rich built heritage: the St Aignan church with a remarkable porch, classified crosses, St Aignan fountain, houses of character, ovens and wells…

Larré offers outdoor activities for relaxation, such as fishing on the communal pond, or hiking on the circuit of the Noë des Dames (9.7 km). On this route, you can admire a landscape of hedgerow and wood on a slightly hilly terrain. This circuit is connected (3 km) by marked paths to the circuit of Langroez on La Vraie Croix.

Saint-Aignan Church

Religious heritage

Reconstructed in the late 18th century, the church has a porch in front of the south entrance. The bell tower, meanwhile, dates from the nineteenth century.
In front of the church, two crosses classified Monuments Historiques:
The Cross of the Twelve Apostles dates from the XVI th century. Below the cross, Saint Aignan is depicted as a bishop with his miter and crosier.
The Cross of Saint Christopher in the form of four leaves has been moved here. It dates from the seventeenth century and presents on the side of the square, Christ on the cross surrounded by The Virgin and St. John. On the other, St. Christopher carrying Christ.
