Immerse yourself in the imaginary and fantasized worlds of the fantastic painter and draftsman Arnaud Grappin. For the 3rd edition of the Cercle Cubik, the Naïa Museum team has chosen to honor Arnaud Grappin, painter and fantastic draftsman who left us prematurely on July 18, 2019. In order to pay tribute to this genius artist, the exhibition "Arnaud Grappin, Surveying Dreams" is organized within the grounds of the castle of Rochefort-en-Terre from August 24 to September 03, 2023. A selection of drawings and paintings will retrace the wanderings of Arnaud Grappin in worlds imaginary and fantasized. Designed as a real journey into the heart of the visionary and fantastic universe of the artist, this exhibition will highlight the fascinating work of the formidable explorer of utopias that was Arnaud Grappin. Arnaud Grappin was born in Fresnes in 1972. He began to draw as a teenager, and in 1997 he graduated from the Emile Cohl school in Lyon. He then moved to Paris where he opened his first workshop, rue Quincampoix. From 2005 to 2019, the artist lived in Orsay, where he established his studio. His influences are diverse and range from the very classic Michelangelo, Rembrandt and Courbet to Moebius and Druillet. Arnaud Grappin's works take place in a dreamlike, fantasized and mysterious world, where the figures stand out forcefully from an environment full of details. Outstanding draughtsman and excellent colorist painter, Arnaud Grappin taught at the prestigious Gobelins school in Paris. Come and admire the works of Arnaud Grappin during the exhibition "Arnaud Grappin, Surveying Dreams" in the castle of Rochefort-en-Terre.
