Since 1994, the Couleurs de Bretagne® association has organized free painting competitions open to all, attracting a diversity of artists from the region, from further afield in France and even abroad, who come to capture the beauty of Breton landscapes on location. This initiative, the most important for amateur painters in France, highlights the rich heritage of our region. In 2025, 13 Petites Cités de Caractère®, including Rochefort-en-Terre, Bécherel, Josselin, and many others, welcomed painters and designers for a day dedicated to conviviality and creativity. A selection of the best paintings will be presented at the Château de Rochefort-en-Terre on Sunday, September 28 and the weekend of October 4-5. This exhibition echoes that of Lebanese painters, also at the Château, offering new perspectives on our communities and allowing residents and visitors to rediscover heritage from a new angle. Exhibition visible from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Sunday, September 28, and Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5. Free admission. Since 2005, the "Art in the Cities" operation has allowed foreign artists to come for creative residencies in the Petites Cités de Caractère® of Brittany. Through this initiative, the association supports intercultural dialogue and the mobility of artists, while promoting the richness of Breton heritage. Faced with the current challenges facing the Lebanese people, this exhibition is not only a tribute to the talent of artists, but also a call to support their voices and promote their art.
