30 years of musical journey! To describe Lo'Jo's music, one would have to draw on both a dictionary of world rhythms and an encyclopedia of universal harmonies. We would borrow adjectives like variegated, shamanic, polyglot, epic, we would wander from savannahs to deserts, from rivers to oceans, from meadows to asphalt, there would be rays of sun and clouds of dust, scents of rain, smells of fire and flavors of spices, hooting and ululations, fiestas and bivouacs. Not a catch-all sound, no, rather a large acoustic souk which would offer the Esbaudi customer aromas of tavern and gypsy scents, Apache waltz and Rasta bamboche, Berber blues and African swing, rock and belly dance, groove and voodoo. In a dozen records, the Lo'Jo band, coming from punk, jazz, rock, has explored as many musical directions as continents. As Denis Péan, singer and lyricist, says, “our music is an anarchic garden that we try to cultivate to make it both beautiful and wild. In the 1st part: Colinne Linder Trio She mixes with her texts music coming from her faults, guided by the strings of the violin or the ukulele. She fabricates sound, weaves breath, crunches words, explores the drone of the shruti, defies the blade of the saw, to carve a path towards color. At his side, two soul brothers accompany him, Sébastien Chevillard vocal embroiderer and folk “transeur” reveals the flight of a horizon in suspension, as for Guillaume Lagger, tamer of breath, he stirs up melodies and rhythms like a fabulous tightrope walker of the harmonica.
