The Lucioles workshop invites you to a meeting with Gwenola Furic about family photo albums, echoing the current photographic exhibition by Sarah Bouillaud, who, in her own way, is developing her own album with the Odissea series. The family story, the compilation of emotional images, the legend or the absence of a legend, the sociological reading, universality and difference, intimacy, appearances, order or disorder, injunction, genre, the trace, the monument, lineage, the individual act, the act of social communication, happiness, the norm… the family album is all of this, and much more. When did this object, at once so personal and so universal, appear, and how has it evolved over time? What becomes of it in the digital age? To whom does it belong? Free participation – Limited capacity – Reservations required by contacting us by email at contact@latelierdeslucioles.fr (please check your spam folder if you don't receive a reply). The added bonus of L'atelier des lucioles: In the afternoon, Gwenola Furic leads a workshop entitled "The Photographic Tree," inviting participants to reconstruct the family tree of an imaginary family using photographs dating from the 19th century to the present day. A few words about Gwenola Furic: Gwenola Furic lives and breathes photography in various ways. She specializes in the conservation and restoration of photographic heritage and works primarily with heritage and cultural institutions in Western France (museums, archives, various collections), undertaking preventive conservation, curative conservation, consulting, and training projects. She also introduces the world of heritage conservation and restoration and photography to a wide range of audiences, from primary schools to universities, including the general public. Gwenola Furic collaborates with other enthusiasts on projects focused on collecting and promoting photographic heritage, particularly its vernacular and amateur aspects, much of which is neither known, recognized, nor protected, and therefore risks disappearing in the near future. Locally, she works with cultural organizations to raise awareness of heritage photography in Brittany, and especially in the Redon region where she lives.
