Amélie Clermont

As a teenager, Amélie became passionate about Art by attending evening classes at the Beaux-Arts de Versailles. Following a preparatory course for the Art Schools, she entered the École Supérieure de Design Industriel from which she graduated 4 years later. After 23 years in the banking industry, Amélie discovered ceramics one summer. She then decided to change her life and learn the technique from Matthieu Liévois at Créamik in Séné, a ceramic school.

She likes
  • The design
  • The Human
  • Meet people
The human being at the heart of

his artistic approach

Potter artist

Land of happy childhood memories, she decides to put down roots in Morbihan, in Rochefort-en-Terre for which she has a crush. It is in this living environment that her art takes its essence since 2 years.

The design that has never left her is found in her creations. The Human is at the heart of her artistic approach with the mobilization of the senses such as smell, touch.

A passionate artist, Amélie Clermont takes immense pleasure in working the Porterie that she considers a true field of possibilities. Thereafter, she aspires to develop her creation around the theme of “the Wild Man” and thus continue to make alive, an inert material.

Designer and ceramic artisan

She combines these two worlds with stoneware and porcelain, turned or hand-modeled to create utilitarian, decorative objects as well as art pieces.

Her favorite themes are origin and spaces/surfaces of exchange that translate both formally and tactilely. The glaze she elaborates comes to dress the pot in the form of textures, of wefts letting the raw clay appear.

Her objective is to bring to the person a sensory experience as complete as possible so that an intimate and particular link is woven between him and the chosen piece.

Amélie's approach

“I loved designing graphical interfaces for 23 years: 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, but how far was I going to go with the numbers? I took a break and looked at my job differently. I wanted to pursue this design approach in a different, more human context. I took a break and went to Brittany, in the heart of a rich land, with people who make, create, think outside the box. Since then, I lead a dance with my earth, my lands, which I adorn with enamels made by myself to arrive at the final object
