Description

Evening organized as part of the La Lune Rousse Festival.
The vitality of traditional Breton culture owes much to the invention of the tape recorder, which made it possible to capture the words, music, and songs of a world that was about to disappear. Today, hundreds of thousands of recordings are available online, free of charge. Exploring the meaning of such a legacy, the film recounts the creation, in 1972, of Dastum, guardian of sound archives, and the extraordinary collective adventure undertaken to transmit and disseminate them. Far from nostalgic clichés, a new generation is now passionate about listening to these sounds and voices, immersing itself in them to keep this heritage alive in its turn. It invites us to consider the vast repertoire of traditional music as a treasure with a very promising future. A magnificent tribute, a source of profound meaning, this documentary is a true gem! The documentary screening will be followed by a discussion with: - Giuseppe de Vecchi, director - Vincent Morel, representative for Upper Brittany for the Dastum association - Anne-Marie Pelhate, radio host at Plum'Fm in charge of Gallo-language programming - Philippe Blouet, collector - Dominique Gicquel, musician. The round table will be moderated by Marie Bouret, director of the Emglev Bro Gwened - Ti ar Vro association. Regular cinema prices apply.
