Come and discover the making of essentes, the traditional wooden tiles used to cover the roof of the Moulin de la Grée de Quénelet. This demonstration will be led by volunteers from the association as well as Guillaume Jimenez, a professional essente maker, who will share his expertise and the traditional techniques for making essentes. Now in ruins, this former windmill is situated in an exceptional environment: a listed site, located in a Natura 2000 Special Conservation Area and at the heart of a Sensitive Natural Area in the Morbihan Department. With the support of the municipality of Pluherlin and the Morbihan Department, the Friends of the Moulin de la Grée Association is undertaking an ambitious project to restore this remarkable heritage site, respecting the natural environment that surrounds it. Among its objectives, the association aims to revive and pass on traditional skills by offering collective and participatory work projects open to all those wishing to volunteer.
