Description
Laure Morali will be signing her new book "Les géantes", to be published by Dépaysage on August 21st.
Aboard a scientific sailboat on the St. Lawrence River, Morgane, a painter, participates in an expedition searching for a lost narwhal. Between navigation, memories of a past influence, and the teachings of a Breton painter, the narrative weaves an inner quest where the living transforms the intimate. Laure Morali spent her childhood in Brittany, on the Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer peninsula. In 1993, at the age of 21, she left to study creative writing in Quebec, then traveled throughout the Americas and spent three months in the forest with Shimun Pashin, a nomad in the Innu community of Ekuanitshit, during the winter of 1998. She has lived in Montreal since 2002. A writer, poet, documentary filmmaker, cultural mediator, and involved in the publishing world, she received the Robert Ganzo Poetry Prize, also known as "the Orinoco."
