Comptage des oiseaux des jardins

Nature, Animals in Questembert
  • The LPO invites citizens of all municipalities to participate in the national count of garden birds.

The principle is simple. Count for 1 hour the birds that visit your garden, your balcony or the public park of your choice. These data, collected during this participatory science operation, allow scientists to learn more about the birds that come to visit the gardens during their breeding season. Indeed, thanks to the compilation of the data collected over the last 10 years during this count and that at the end of January, which also takes place every year, we now have proof that the population of certain species tends to decrease during this period. This is particularly the case for the European Greenfinch, the Blackbird, the Barn and Window Swallows or even the Accenteur Mouchet. What will it be for the years to come? Help the scientists, take part in this new count! To participate, you don't need to be an expert. All you have to do is choose 1 hour, enjoy watching what's going on in your garden and know how to count. Easy ! And don't panic, "species" sheets are available on the website to help you recognize the main species that visit the gardens.
