Sunday January 26 at 5 p.m. screening of the film "They Shot The Piano Player" VOSTF The contemporary detective story. An ode to jazz and a political thriller. Directed by Fernando Trueba and Javier Mariscal – Spain, France, Portugal, Peru, As an introduction, Jean-Claude Capillon, professional musician, composer, will perform Bossa Nova pieces for us while recalling the origins of this music. A New York music journalist investigates the disappearance, on the eve of the coup d'état in Argentina, of Francisco Tenório Jr, a virtuoso Brazilian pianist. While celebrating jazz and Bossa Nova, the film captures a fleeting period of creative freedom, at a turning point in the history of Latin America in the 60s and 70s, just before the continent fell under the yoke of totalitarian regimes.
